Security Policies Have to Apply to Everyone

CEOs, are you using “shadow IT” — applications and programs your IT department hasn’t approved? You’re not alone. A new report says 75 percent of CEOs do just that, even though 91 percent acknowledge it could put their company at risk.

We don’t think that’s a great idea.

For one thing, you’re giving your employees permission to skirt security policies and procedures themselves.

Besides, if the authorized technology you already have isn’t working for you, it’s probably not working for anyone else, either. It’s time to talk to your top security pro about either adapting your authorized technology to work better or bringing in new secure tools that allow people to do their jobs.

Xantrion can help. Talk to us about ways to shine a light on shadow IT and make sure everyone in your company is using tools that are authorized, secure, and effective.
